1. Introduction

Welcome to Worxy.co.uk (“Worxy”, “we”, “our”, “the Platform”).
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Worxy platform as a:

  • Freelancer

  • Client / Hirer

  • Employer posting job vacancies

  • Visitor accessing the website

By registering, accessing, or using the platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.


2. Definitions

FreelancerA registered user offering freelance services through the Worxy platform.
EmployerA registered business or organisation posting employment vacancies.
Service ListingA paid freelance offering created by a freelancer.
Job ListingA free or paid employment advertisement posted by an employer.
Project ContractThe agreement between a freelancer and client for a specific service.
DepositA partial upfront payment collected by Worxy prior to service delivery.

3. Platform Role & Responsibilities

Worxy operates as:

  • A digital marketplace connecting freelancers with clients.

  • A job board enabling employers to advertise employment opportunities.

  • A payment and escrow intermediary for freelance transactions.

Worxy does not employ freelancers and is not a party to service agreements between freelancers and clients.

For job listings, Worxy does not:

  • Vet employers beyond optional verification

  • Guarantee employment

  • Act as a recruitment agency (unless separately contracted under a micro-agency agreement)


4. Verification Requirements

Only freelancers are required to complete verification, which may include:

  • Identity verification

  • Skill validation

  • Compliance checks (e.g., right to work in the UK)

Employers and clients may be verified voluntarily or at Worxy’s discretion.

Worxy reserves the right to:

  • Refuse accounts

  • Suspend access

  • Request additional documentation


5. Payments & Fees

5.1 Freelance Marketplace Transactions

For freelance services:

  • Worxy may collect either full payment upfront OR a deposit depending on listing type.

  • Funds are held in escrow until approval or dispute resolution.

5.2 Commission

Worxy applies a commission to freelance transactions. Commission details may vary by:

  • Freelancers

  • Service categories

  • Account type

  • Subscription plan (if applicable)

Fees are displayed before purchase and non-refundable except as outlined in Section 9.

5.3 Subscription Plans

Where applicable, freelancers and employers may purchase membership or premium plans to access additional features.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.


6. Responsibilities of Users

6.1 Freelancers Must:

  • Deliver services professionally and within agreed timelines

  • Provide accurate profile and listing information

  • Treat all users respectfully and professionally

  • Follow UK law, including IR35 where applicable

6.2 Clients Must:

  • Provide accurate project requirements

  • Pay agreed fees promptly

  • Engage in fair communication and allow reasonable revisions

6.3 Employers Must:

  • Post legitimate, legal job opportunities

  • Provide truthful business information

  • Comply with UK employment law and data protection rules


7. Service Delivery & Completion

A project is considered complete when:

  • The freelancer submits the agreed deliverables, AND

  • The client confirms acceptance OR fails to respond within the platform review window (usually 72 hours unless otherwise stated)

Once marked complete, payment is released minus fees.


8. Refunds

Refunds may be issued only if the work was not delivered. Refund eligibility is determined during Worxy’s dispute resolution process.

Refunds do not apply to:

  • Change-of-mind cancellations

  • Partially completed work where progress has been made

  • Subscriptions, featured listings, or advertisements


9. Disputes

Worxy provides dispute mediation for freelance transactions.
Worxy’s decision is binding and final.

Worxy does not mediate:

  • Disputes between employers and job applicants

  • Off-platform payments

  • Projects not conducted through escrow


10. Intellectual Property

Ownership depends on the contract between client and freelancer.
Unless otherwise agreed:

  • The freelancer retains copyright until full payment is released

  • Upon completion, ownership transfers to the client for the intended use


11. Prohibited Use

Users must not:

  • Post harmful, offensive, illegal, or fraudulent content

  • Attempt to bypass the platform’s payment system

  • Share copyrighted content without permission

  • Abuse, harass, exploit, or scam other users

Worxy may suspend or terminate accounts that breach policies.


12. Liability & Disclaimer

Worxy does not guarantee:

  • Work quality

  • Hiring outcomes

  • Freelancer reliability

  • Employer legitimacy

Users engage with one another at their own risk.

Worxy is not liable for:

  • Loss of income

  • Business interruption

  • Data loss

  • Damages resulting from platform use


13. Privacy & Data Protection

Worxy processes personal data in accordance with:

  • UK GDPR

  • Data Protection Act 2018

A separate Privacy Policy applies.


14. Changes to Terms

Worxy may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
